Upset, why

I have been very critical of the present administration. Yes, I was critical of past administrations also. I ask myself why? I am a good American, I deeply respect the office of the President and all that it stands for. What is it that would cause a mostly stand up guy to become cynical of the situation? Why would this cute and cuddly fellow wander into the mainstream and get his shoes muddied? What is it that would tip the canoe in this fast paced stream?

In past administrations it has been the defining of the word "it" and confusion about sexual responsibility and having two (or more) sets of laws we are responsible to and for. Clinton was subject to impeachment for his indiscretion while during the same time period an Air Force Captain (a B-52 driver) was fired for having an adulterous relationship with and enlisted man. Clinton survived and went on to become bigger than life on the world stage. What happened to the Air Force Captain?

"W", much as I loved the man for his handling of 9/11 (can you imagine Gore in that position at that time?) seemed to fade and become totally irrelevant during his second term and turned the "Iraq War" into another Viet Nam dragging it on for whatever reason. Seemed his policy was flawed and he was blind to the situation.

"The One" is a cat of another color (I say that tongue in cheek because I am not a racist as Jimmy Carter would have you believe.) Have you noticed that everything he touches, faces or addresses is cause for catastrophic concern if something is not done immediately to right the ship that past administration has left sinking. In his speech before the UN on opening day he did not address the inherent goodness that is America or all the good done around the world in time of need, catastrophe or destruction. Rather he apologized for who we are and what we do.

"How dare he"? what gives him that right? It was a speech about look at me, see what I have done. It was like a Dick and Jane book. See Dick run, see spot jump. Combined with the idiotic efforts of Pelosi and Reed, the arrogance of Boxer and Feinstein. Throw in Kerry and others and I am hard pressed to understand my frustration being at a level to which I seem to have risen. Trillion dollar deficits, of his own making. Healthcare negotiations in shambles because it will be his way or no way. There is nothing wrong with our healthcare that good, bipartisan negotiations could not resolve. Take on tort reform, pharmaceuticals, long term healthcare for catastrophic illness, pre-existing conditions. Get the government, the President and Congress out of reformation and into the refinement of a good system. Let doctors PRACTICE medicine.

No, not a great deal here that would get this old veteran worked up. Do not dis my military, my country or anything else that has become important to us because of our pledge to our country. Know that we, the little people, will hold you responsible for the damage you are doing in both the foreign and domestic fronts. We do not confront you on an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly basis but we will confront you on a bi-annual basis on election day and we, the American people, DO NOT FORGET. Got it, if not then get it because you have created a ground swell and it is coming for you.
